Same method.
Different domains.
Each program in the Sandpit applies the same four-operation method to a different capacity problem. What changes is the clinical domain, the workforce involved, and the kind of decision being supported. The configuration logic stays constant.
Programs already in use, in the field.
The most mature configurations in the portfolio. Live in production, evidence verified, scaling nationally.
EndoZone
Specialty knowledge, in patients' hands — turning what only sat in tertiary clinics into everyday decision support.
A national consumer platform that moves curated specialty knowledge directly to people living with endometriosis. MRFF-funded. Scaling across states. SA iAward winner 2023.

Backed by MRFF national infrastructure investment. Deployed across multiple SA public health sites. Generating evidence at scale.
AutoMedic
Medication safety post-discharge
Reconfiguring how hospital pharmacists do information gathering and reconciliation. AI scans dispensed medicines and patient records to surface high-risk discharges, freeing pharmacist time for the clinical judgment that machines can't make.
AutoReview
Whole-of-person mental health review
Redistributing parts of the case-manager review workflow. Algorithms scan electronic health records weekly to detect care gaps. Case managers receive curated priority lists instead of spending an hour a day on manual record search.
Configurations under co-design.
Active programs in early-stage diagnosis or configuration sprints. Each emerged from a specific partner challenge and is being built with the workforce and consumers it will serve.

Extended scope of practice
Configuration design for community pharmacy under extended scope arrangements — reconfiguring who notices what and where care decisions land in primary care.
View case studyWhere the community is the actor, not the backdrop.
Configurations that recognise the Community persona as a distinct, co-equal actor — alongside clinician, consumer and system. These programs address the redistribution decay problem: when clinical work moves upstream to consumers, it needs community support to stay sustained.
Growin' Up Healthy Babies
Community-led configuration · Aboriginal partnership
Distributing the four operations across community, family, peer workers and clinical services — with the Aboriginal community as a recognised, resourced actor. Designed under Aboriginal Data Sovereignty principles.
AutoConnect
Post-redistribution support layer
The community-support layer that catches redistributed clinical work and connects it to peer workers, community organisations and lived-experience networks. Plugs into consumer-facing configurations to prevent decay.
Have a domain we don't have a configuration for yet?
Most programs in the portfolio started with a partner bringing a capacity challenge. The Sandpit method works across clinical domains — what stays constant is the configuration logic.
